We took our guide Emeritus, Andy Byrd in search of a big fish. It started out hot then cooled off as the low pressure front, wind and snow moved into the area. Jeff was on the rod when the big fish bit, a 14 pounds, 4 oz. buck that was still in the spawning mode and mood. We got bites on everything today. Worden's T4 purple Glow Flatfish, Mack's Cha Cha Squidder, and we even caught an amazingly small fish (16 inches) on a Rapala Super Shad Rap (it's about 7" with a hefty profile.). However, the big fish came on a Silver Horde Ace Hi Fly baited with a strip of Northern Pike Minnow with a big purple Smile Blade in front. Benches from 240 to 320 feet deep were most productive. There were some great fishing stories swapped and plenty of catching up done. Speeds of 1.4 to 1.5 mph triggered the bites. As always stay close to the bottom.
