Rocky Point - no water at end of ramp! Launched from Alder Park 0800 and pushed the power button on the Humminbird and nothing happened! Fished from memory - really taking a chance at my age. Water is about 40-50 feet past the concrete ramps and enough rock base to launch small boats. Bites were consistant all morning from 13 to 20 feet deep. Had my limit in the cooler by noon. Only three other boats and they were all pulling in fish. Used my old standard - Pink Lady planer, Hot Wings in silver and gold, and double wammy chart/red wedding ring with scented Shoepeg. All fish in the 10 to 12 inch range, slight jaw hook, and very little color change.
Note: when I first arrived, I walked down to assess the conditions. There were approx. half dozen small koke carcasses strewn along the shore and two were 24 and 25 inches!!! Are there kokes that size in Alder?

Good report. 24 or 25 inch is a big fish.

Talking about finding big fish in Alder. Several years ago we were bass fishing Alder. On th bottom I saw a huge dead fish. All I could see was its white belly. I had to see what it was so I drug a deep diving plug over it and snagged it. It was a 10 to 12 lb salt water dog fish. If I'm lying I'm dying. Obviously someone dumped the carcass in there. It certainly could not have survived fresh water. Whatever, it was a long ways to pack it from the nearest salt water. Very strange.

Probably the same breed of critter that put Northern Pike in trout lake when I lived in North Dakota! I have had pike hit a spoon even with his belly full of minnows. It appears someone thought this Dogfish would survive in Alder?
