After fishing the lake pretty consistently for the last couple weeks and getting skunked, I finally hooked into a decent bass again. Was going after smallies, but found this guy instead.

Weighed in at 5lbs on the nose ( a new personal record for me). Caught on a split shot 4” Senko paddling around near the park.

Now it’s time to find the picture worthy smallmouth!

I agree with kneehigh...looks real fat and closer to 6+lbs. Get yourself a digital scale it will give you a more accurate reading.

looks like a nice 5 lber to me. congrats :) but yes i do agree, a digital scale will be more accurate :)

Nice fish, looks all of 5 lbs to me maybe a little larger. Did she get to swim away...

Yes, she got to swim away to fight another day. I will look into getting a digital scale for sure!
I owe Dave Watkins credit for this fish. After taking his instructional course, I feel twice as confident fishing out there.
