I was told West Medical hasn't been good for fishing for years and so I decided to try my luck today from the shore because they charge you to use their dock. Anyways, my fishing buddy refuses to go there because it's "gross" and "there ain't no fish in it" so I went by myself. I got there just after 1:00 pm and fished the bottom with green power-bait for about two hours with nothing. I had my pole leaned against my tacklebox and at about 3:00 my pole was almost dragged into the lake by this 21 1/2 inch hog. I almost thought I'd lose him because he ran straight for the weeds and got himself pretty tangled. Luckily he swallowed the hook and I managed to get him out and onto my stringer. Caught a couple 8 inchers over the next hour and a half until I left at about 4:30. Not the most productive day of fishing but this hog made the trip worth it. He was the only one I decided to keep and I plan on cooking him up tonight.
