Well we left Spokane at about 5am and were on the lake, fishing by 6:30. It was the first trip of the year for my daughter who just turned 3.We were with my brother and the fishing started off pretty slow. 100 or so yards out from the dock at four seasons resort, we were getting nibbles. We were waiting till they really took the bait, but that never happened. so around noon we headed just below the island and trolled the lake with everything we had, Still got nothing, not even a bite. At about 4pm we headed back to where we had gotten the "most" action and decided that if the fishing didn't pick up, we would head out. It was HOT that day, right around 94 degrees. at about 4:30 I got a great bite and landed a 15 and a half inch rainbow. Not bad at all I thought, but then I realized that in my excitement, I had forgotten to let my daughter help reel it in. we hooked into another about half an hour later and she landed it like a champ. Then I got another bite. It felt like a smaller one, and took the bait very slowly. once it got up to the boat, he must have realized he was hooked, cause the fight was on then. Ten minutes later, I had landed a 3.5lb 23" hook-jawed rainbow, My brother landed 2 more beautiful 15+ inch rainbows and we called it a day.
