After the two day fishing and camping trip, I had an urge to flush the motor, then, I remembered that I just caught salmon out of a fresh water lake! Our catching wasn't stellar, the 2 of us had 4 salmon total for the 2 days of fishing, Thurs & Fri. The scenery was great! There was a ton of boats, at times impossible to stay out of the flotilla as the flotilla migrated around the north half of the lake searching for some fish. We camped Thurs night on a shorline to the west of Noisy creek bay. Tent, shrimp and braughts on the BBQ, and a smokey fire to keep the skeeters at bay. My choice of ramps was poor for my boat and towing rig, Panorama is not so good for my size boat and a rig with out 4 wheel drive. As embarrassing as it is to admit, maybe it'll help someone else in their choice, I got stuck pretty bad pulling my boat out at Panorama launch. Single drive vehicles at Panorama might want to consider launching here only at max 14'-16' lunde size boats. My 17' welded was too heavy for the gravel ramp and standard white work van. The gravel gave way a bit.
Awoke at midnight, left Kirkland at 1am, arrived Panarama about 4am, fished hard till about 2pm, set up camp, ate, slept, started fishing next morn at 4:30, tipped with shrimp(fire cure), 3 rods, changed up the gear often enough to try and find something hot, smiley got 0, beads 2 fish, spin n glow 2 fish. Lost a couple on bare hooks and smiley. I was pretty punchy on the drive home. LOL Go figure....
The salmon taste awesome! Over all a good experience, but challenging.
