Yesterday my buddy and I attempted another pass at Green Lake. What a let down. We literally tried everything type of bait, lure, method, and location. We covered the east bank, south bank, west bank, around the island, and the middle of the lake in fruitless attempts at coaxing fish to bite. Lures we tried were a black and blue spinnerbait, a perch roostertail, a crawdad rapala, a rattling rapala, grub on a drop shot, worm on a drop shot, a perch blue fox, and a needlefish. It was as exhausting typing it as it was changing out all those lures.

We fished from 5 in the afternoon until 10 at night and saw about 2 fish surface that weren't carp. The weather was mostly overcast, a little wind, half moon, and the water felt a bit cooler than it has been (at least on the surface). I've pretty much come to the conclusion that on July 8th the fish in Green Lake have some sort of fish holiday where they all pack up and visit another lake. I think this will be the last time that I will fish Green Lake for a while. I'm going to stick to Lake Washington and look for another lake within an hours driving distance or so.

Green lake is the best in the Spring, in IMHO.. Come July it becomes to warm. The trout go night/night. And wake up again in the fall. OK, I guess I just noticed you were fishing for rock bass. Go to Bitter lake an hour before dark, you can have all the rock bass you want. Best by tube though. (-:
