On the water at 10 am with the intention of spending the day flipping and pitching. Had to pick my daughter up from school at 3 so I fished the area I believe is referred to as sunset bay, ( by the post office). Fished the bay point to point and caught several smallies, but nothing over 2 pounds. Caught all my fish on a small lipless crank and a small spinnerbait. Also left about a dozen squawfish floating for the osprey. Water temp was at 57 degrees. Beautiful day to be on the water. Eagerly waiting some post spawn fatties.

Nice work on the squawfish. Thats a complete angler there. They must be getting ready to spawn im thinkin with the current and the low temps huh.

Where are you launching your boat? The water didn't look deep enough at 9 mile

It is low at 9 mile but the DNR launch is open on weekends.

I launched at 9 mile, just enough water to float the boat.

Not deep enough at 9mile? I drove down there on the 10th and the dock was under water.

That is the launch that is right next to the Little Spokane river and the Spokane House. The 9 Mile launch is a resort off of Charles road.

Bassafras, that was probably true on the 10th, then it dropped down again, and it has been climbing again.

See the link attached. This year, it may be the only way to know how to get on Long.
