6/8/2011 9:10:00 PMSome can survive. Cooler water helps. The bigger the fish the better chance they can "burp" their air and be released successfully. There are probably other internal factors that are hard to evaluate like lactic acid build up. I think that fish that are "Blown up" probably won't survive because of the pressure on their organs. That's just my opinion. I think that "plunge" releasing works best. Having them get down so the air in their system compresses is the best bet against feeding them to the birds as "floaters".
