Went to Chelan by myself while the family slept in to start the holiday weekend. I wanted to explore some new areas and see what they looked like, to try to have some good knowledge for the summer. The lake is still pretty low for this time of year (1088.35) but has been coming up 4" - 5" per day. I found some good new areas along the north shore, and they produced 21 smallies. The moral is to not get stuck on fishing within a cast of the shoreline....don't be afraid to explore off-shore structure, and Chelan has a ton of it! Drop-shotting was the key method....worms, tubes, and Senkos all worked. Only caught one on a jerk bait, and nothing on a crank. Water temps were 54 - 57 depending on which bay and proximity to shore. Weather was in the 60's with variable winds. Photos are hard to do alone, so you get what you get.
