I arrived at the boat ramp about 1015 to find only two trailers in the lot. What’s up, where is everybody? I found the fishing to be slow combined with a stiff SW wind. I guess the crowd figured it out before I arrived! It was blowing near whitecap strength for the three hours I was on the lake, which made maintaining speed and depth impossible. My 12 foot boat was pushed around like a leaf at times, so I would run up wind and drift back down to the north. In spite of the weather, I managed to get one 13 inch kokanee and one 11 inch trout. Both were caught near the VA hospital on handmade spinners at about 20 feet in depth, and in 60 feet of water. Sure glad I brought the rain gear to protect myself from the wind.
