5/24/2011 1:52:00 AMIf you want to target bass this time of year, trolling is not the way to do it. They are up shallow getting ready to spawn, typically hard bottom(gravel being the best) areas adjacent to some sort of cover(rock, wood, dock pilings,ect.) in 2-6 ft of water. There are still alot of pre spawn fish that will be moving near those spawning areas, so pay attention to the trasitions around the spawning grounds. Jig n pig, tubes, senkos, and dropshoting minnow type baits, are all good to try. Black, green, and brown are good colors, and matching natural forage for the minnow baits is always a good bet. 5/31/2011 1:48:00 AMIf you own the boat, try dead sticking some plastics literally in the thick of the lilly's. With that in mind, you have to scout out places bass will hold and feel secure. Look for the best structure you can find and spend time there. I don't endorse bed fishing but it is effective.
