It could be a good year for Lake Samish.
I tried to hit it yesterday, but had technical difficulties with the electric motor on my little Watertender 9.4. So today, with a new Minn-Kota on board, I head for the lake when the rain lets up about 6 PM.
Long line trolling with 3/8 oz. of lead and 50 feet of mono out, they liked a red/green wedding ring tipped with a white gulp maggot behind a sling blade. Speed changes seemed to trigger the bite.
And they seem to be a better class of fish this year. These were 9 to 12 inches, vs the 7 to 9 inchers of last May.

Hi Lee,
It was nice meeting you at Ted's on Saturday, hope the speed indicator works out. Those are nice looking fish, I'll try and run up sometime and try to jump a few of those Kokes. MaxLilly

I absolutely love that lake but have had a hard time going back since having my windows smashed out about a year ago... Nice job on the kokes!

Those are looking mighty tasty. What end of the lake did you fish. I need to get out there. You might try white shoe peg corn I was killing them with that. I dont blame 8theB8. Ive been there since your reported window breaking but had no ploblems thank god. tight lines

Yep, I understand from another fisherman that there have been at least 6 breakins at the boat ramp.
