I don't know about anyone else trying to fish this lake, but I'm frustrated.

I have fished this lake with crankbaits, plastics, creatures, jigs, spoons, spinners, buzz bombs... you name it. I've been doing it for 3 years just at this lake and have caught 4 fish out of it, ever. 3 largemouth and one trout.

The only time I've seen a trophy fish come out of this lake was when I was on the dock watching "islandbass" run around the entire dock fighting what we like to call BIG MAMA. Props again to him for that, btw. I haven't seen much of him on the dock since. Where is he?!

Anyways,
I'm almost at the point of giving up on this lake completely. It just doesn't seem to be worth it.

Later in the day I moved up to log boom park on lake washington... and watched "elijah" catch a bass within minutes of me being there! I going there from now on.

I live a short drive from Steel, Kalarney, Geneva, North and Star. I am a strickly bass fisherman and can usually figure out a pattern anywhere I go, whether its shallow or deep. But I wouldn't beat yourself up on your lack of success on that lake. When I don't have much time to fish and need a short trip I usually go to one of the above lakes. And I have never had killer days on any of them. I consider 4 bass of any size on these lakes a stellar day. I honestly believe the bass population in those lakes just isn't that great, making bites sometimes far and few in between. Steel Lake is one that I have only had any success down by that pocket of pads and wood away from any lakeside homes. And there I did take a 5 lber on a soft jerk bait. I have never did well on the docks or off shore from them. Hope that makes you feel better.......

You could not be more right, especially this season. Steel Lake has been brutally stingy. I want to say hang in there, but I too have been hanging in there longer than I care to bear. I might have to log boom it with you.

Well said, ricky and I would agree with your comments
