The 3.8 to a pound stocked rainbow trout are about 7-8 inches. Not much of a fight even on my ultra light. With the fish there planting this year, you need a micro feather light. First time on the water this year, cant complain to much, I got my first fish on my first trip. I got a 2 pole endorsement, didnt work out to good this trip. You bait one up set it dowm, then bait the other and the fish are steeling your bait on the other. I was feeding the fish, they sure need it. They were biting every thing. Some people were using spoons, and spinners, that was problebly better, that way you lip hook them and can realease them with no harm. I was at the park with the lawn, and fishing on the lawn between the 2 piers. Nice sunny day, tons of bites, just to slow to hook them. Landed one. Fished from 12:30 - 3:30 First hour no bites at the far end.
All the action was on the lawn, in the middle. Better get out there before all the cormorants get them, there was 40 of them hurding the fish into corners and eating them up, at the size of them, they cant last to long.

they're not all small though, there are some monsters in there... i caught 4 pigs in there this spring, as well as plenty of trout in the 10-14 inch range which i consider to be decent, and for the last 12 days i limited every day there...granted i have caught a considerable number of cormorant bait sized trout. and yes, spinners/spoons are definitely the way to go on the new stockers, ill use one of my single barbless spinners and catch and release 20 or more trout in a matter of an hour or two. With bait, each catch counts toward your daily limit, so not only will you catch more with spinners, you'll be able to release them alive and keep fishing past your 3rd fish. the pigs have been hitting either worm/bobber, or plugs(f5 rapala), from what ive seen anyway
