Not exactly the fish to take a kid fishing for, but if he catches one I guarantee he will be hooked for life! They put up a great fight simply due to sheer size. The bigger they get, the more fight. Be persistent, and most of all, patient! Catching tigers is all about putting time on the water. Stick to the east shoreline around the submerged trees. Keep your hooks sharp and your lines tight! If you see a fish follow, don't dismiss it, keep the lure in the water and do circles, or the "figure-8" till she either takes the bait, or sinks off to the deep!

Meetings are open to anyone who wants to come, not just members. We try to have a "How-to" presentation every meeting so attendees can learn something about catching/handling tigers safely. We are a family oriented chapter, so by all means bring the whole family. We hold the meetings at Five mile since there is stuff for the little kids to do as well if they want to play. I bring my 7 year old to most all meetings.
