Today when i went to north cove i expected to have a good day because i have had alot of luck recently at that spot. The water was extremely calm and fish were jumping alot. So i went with my usual method which is a power egg and trout floating worm about 3 ft. off of the bottom in my normal spots. I didnt get touched and i dont know why it seemed like i did every thing corectly.
If anybody notices anything i did wrong please point it out.
Also i was wondering what colors seem to work the best in Stevens.

I like to use chartrues and pink. The fish you seen jumping Im sure were kokanee. They like the color pink. Like a small spinner, roostertail, Ive even seen them caught on pink power bait. Red salmon eggs with a maggot. You will have to be able to cast out were there at. Hope that helps

Hey fish'n kid, glad to see you getting out there. Everyone is going to hate me for this but read on and I’ll share how I fished for kokanee as a kid. First chumming is legal in Lake Stevens. I would get a jar of the chum eggs and mix it with a can of creamed corn and then about a cup of corn meal. After it is thoroughly mixed freeze it in ice cube trays (depending on your mom’s frame of mind this may require a visit to the thrift store). Take a number of the frozen chum cubes to the lake with you in a small ice chest keeping them under a frozen Blue-Ice pack. On arrival at the lake toss a chum-cube to about where you can comfortably cast a light sliding steelhead type float. Rig your line (in this order) with a bobber stop, a small bead, a sliding steelhead float, a small sliding sinker, swivel and about 2’ of 2# leader and a small red egg hook. Set the bobber stop about 6’ above the hook. Bait with 1 maggot and 1 Pautkze Ball-o-Fire salmon egg and then cast to about where your ice cube is floating. This will consistently work for kokanee, especially if you fish the same area often. Good luck and you better start looking for a smoker!

Wow, thanks rseas you seem to really know your stuff when it comes to this subject and it really means alot that you are helping me out like this im sure that i will try this out and will this method work in choppy water as well because sometimes as you may know the water gets pretty choppy as we get into the boating seasons.
