Hit the Lake with Doug W for my first shot at Tiger Muskies this year. The water was between 41 and 43 degrees and MURKY. The weatehr was crazy, pea size hail, then sunny skies, then wind and rain blowing us all over the lake. Didn't see any fish and it wasn't for lack of trying as we threw everything at them. At least the Ice is off!

Did Doug catch any crappies while he was looking for tigers? He is famous, at least in my boat, for catching nice crappie on his beloved Husky Jerk. Happy fishing

Haha nope! I've heard that story though. It would take one hell of a crappie to take on the baits Doug likes throwing now!

My favorite cold water Newman lake lure is a esox cobra jig. I love them in this lake in the spring.

Good to hear you guys are getting out, hopefully the effects of cabin fever are over with the return of warmer water/weather.
Was the entire lake murky or large sections of it? I'll be over that way soon and keep you posted, hoping to extend an extra few days and go for northerns in the PO and CDA. We'll have to give it a go.

AJ's Dad, No crappies on that day. Weather was freakish. Almost as bad as today (Wednesday), although I finally caught the first tiger of the year!
