I headed up to my vacation property at Lake Tyee in Skagit county near Baker Lake to check on the RV and do some fishing with my 6 year old son, Drew. We got to the lake around noon and noticed a new fallen tree in the lake that looked like nice trout cover. I casted out a bobber and worm for Drew while I casted spoons and spinners.

Drew was running around throwing rocks in the lake and his bobber went down. I ran over to his rod, reeled in a ton of slack and set the hook. Nothing. Bait gone!

I re-baited and casted to the same spot, while Drew stayed closer. Shortly thereafter, bobber down again. I set the hook and handed the rod off to Drew. He reeled in this nice 15" trout. He was very excited and his grin went from ear to ear.

The wind picked up and the clouds got dark, so we packed up.
