Linked up with Motor1 and Fowl Language this A.M. at Silver. We immediately headed to an area of 35-feet deep water that had produced well the following day. Had all lines in the water at 8:00. Very cold at 9 degrees. Thankfully Fowl Language had his portable shanty and heater. This setup was a lifesaver when the wind began kicked up after 9:00. I can take the cold.....the wind, not so much!
We were using teardrops and swedish pimples tipped with perch eyes. Shortly after 8:30 we began getting takes. The action wasn't fast and furious like the previous day, but it was consistent enough that the bite lasted through 10:30. That was interesting, for in my experience, it's usually feast or famine. We experienced several "mini-feeds" during this two hour period as schools moved through. It was during these feeds that my hands became painfully cold due to the wind. Once that bite stopped, I'd step inside the shanty for a warm-up.
Frozen yet content, we called it quits at 11:00. We ended up with 36 nice perch between us, many of which will be introduced to the Fry Daddy this evening!
