Lake terrell has been one of my favorite fishing places ever sense I moved here from michigan. It took a little while to get used to catching smaller fish because in michigan we caught pike muskee and bass. But at lake terrell you are usually lucky to get a fish over five pounds. I have caught the most fish on soft plastics but have also caught some on jigs and topwaters. Because I don't have a boat I have to fish of the wooden dock. I suggest fidhing from the wooden dock because there is a lot more cover and fishing right along the shallow reeds works best for me. The best way to fish is to make long casts as close to the reeds as you can and let the bait fall I like wacky rig senkos and texas rigged curly tailed worms and lizards in white or green. So uyou just let the bait fall and let it sit on the bottom for five seconds and give a couple quick jerks and let it sink follow this pattern and bring it back to you and the fish will go crazy. You can also use a jig either along the reeds or in the deeper hydrlla I use a curly tail grubin either 23 or 4 inch sizes. You want to use a heavier jig in the deeperr water near the end of the dock but be prepared for a mountain weeds to come up with each fish because it is densse in spring and especially summer so use braid or a high puond test flourocarbon line. If you follow these tips you can catch fish at lake terrell. Happy fishing.

Squid. Did you get to fish for those big Lake Champlain Smallies back East? Are you pitching flipping jigs with pork or plastic craw trailers at Terrell? Adding any scent to your plastics? In cold water, this can make a huge difference on lethargic bass. Ever try drop shotting off of that dock? Jiggy

No I've never been to champlain but I've been to a couple smaller lakes up in the U.P. And a bunch of smaller lakes in the Ypsilanti area. I have fished lake Michigan and superior but that's about it. I haven't ever used scents and my favorite trailer is the reaction innovation craws in black and blue or tequila sunrise. It is a good alternative to some of the more expensive yamamoto flappin hawgs and in my experience it can produce even more fish.
