This report is going to be more of an update on the conditions of Log Boom Park than a catching fish report.

I decided to check out Log Boom Park with my sister in law who wanted to fish.

When we got there, the water level was VERY LOW.
I mean LOW LOW, I have never seen the water level that low before.
In addition, almost all of the weeds that were there are now gone.

Basically, all of the cover that the panfish relied on is no longer there so the panfish have moved on.

I spotted one last chunk of weeds and it held baby largemouth and some pumpkinseed sunfish.

I rigged up a pole for my sister in law with this secret rig I like to use for panfish and she was able to catch one pumpkinseed sunfish.
Even when I tried to fish for panfish, I didn't get so much as one bite.
The fish simply are not there in the numbers that they were just a couple weeks ago.

I ended up fishing the main part of the dock for bass and caught 2 largemouths.
One was a small dink only about 8 inches or so.
The other bass was a decent largemouth, weighed in at 1 lb 10 oz.

Just to RECAP, THE QUALITY OF FISHING AT LOG BOOM PARK HAS DETERIORATED DRASTICALLY over the past couple weeks.

I talked a few people on the dock and they said that in a few hours they only caught 1 or 2 fish.

I guess we will have to wait for next summer again for the fishing to be as good as it was during the first half of august.

There never were any fish in Log Boom Park who are you kidding. Fished there 2 times caught more milfoil and no fish.

KBLACKNIGHT50, If you read the reports over the last month you will see that Logboom park has produced quite well. Prior to this summer my experience was the same though, poor. Go back and read the reports.

KBLACKKNIGHT50 - i hate to say this but just because you couldn't catch anything doesn't mean that there weren't any fish there. your comment is extremely immature and bitter. i've caught tons of largemouth, pumpkinseed sunfish, bluegills, yellow perch, squawfish, and even a brown bullhead catfish and a black crappie.

you clearly are not paying attention to anything i say because if you were, you'd realize the whole point of this report is to tell people that the conditions have gotten worse and the fishing has degraded drastically. i have gone there and caught over 50 fish a day, over 5 times this summer.

I've fished there and Fishing boy fished there while I was there once and in the early summer the fish bite was almost non stop. Lots of punkin seed, yellow perch and blue gills were majority of the bites. Put on a Senko and catch some large mouths, and bobber and nightcrawler for all the other species.
