Jack Bauer and I hit the lake for a little bit today to wait out northbound traffic. Was very productive. We found a school of rock bass lurking right off the dock at the deep end of lake on the east side. A bit of worm on a hook left to float slowly to the bottom had the effect of fish on! before it hit the ground. Reminded me of when I was a kid.

Of course Jack tried to eat one while it was still alive, and I had to fend off a ducks from another one, but all went happily on their merry way. The trout fishing was dead, and no bass. But while casting a kastmaster I did catch a really big rock bass, about 12 inches. I'd no idea they'd get the big, I thought I had a trout. All in all caught about 50 fish, maybe the same ones over again and three pumkinseed sunfish in three hours.

It was really cool. They don't get very long just squatty and fat. When they're that big the look really weird. Hehehe.
