So I hit Sawyer hoping to finally get the monkey off my back at that lake this year. If I remember correctly, it should be my 3rd time this year with zero fish for the last 2 outtings.

Started the day throwing a lipless crank with no success. Started throwing a weightless worm and got a few small nimbles, but no hookup.

Started using a xrap and with 1st cast, BAM! Fish on finally! But it was a little guy, about 8" or so.

Next cast turned into a rats nest. My lure got caught on the rod behind me and I had no chance. This one was bad. Had to cut the spool several times to get it usable again. Don't worry, I have the bad line in the garbage.

Switched back to the worm and after a couple of casts, I get what I believe is a wind knot on my spinning outfit?

Bah, rough 1st 30 mins so far.

Then I ventured into an area I've never fished before. In this area, is where I caught the majority of my fish and spent a lot of time working it.

Threw the worm here and there at docks. Caught a few small ones. Then I stayed with the xrap and the LM loved it, even though they were small. Caught about 7 in this area.

Eventually I made my way around to the south end of the lake. Looks gross down there with all that algae. Fished the pads with the xrap. Found a couple of large perch with it.

Still cant find those big bass everyone seems to be catching. But was a fun productive day.

Get back to my truck and notice a ticket on the windsheild..... What for.... Wait a minute, where is my parking pass.... Dig in my pocket and doh!

At least you got the skunk off. There in there it`s just tough right now. We caught some decent ones this morning. Hooked into a monster and lost it.

Good job! You got numbers vs. big uns this time around. I would chalk that up as a decent outing.
