Well heck, today was going to be a great day fishing for King's in Area #9, I hoped. We made our way out the Jetty about 07:30 and found white cap's as far as you could see. I called a few buddy's out there and they said Waaaahoooooo. So we spun around and headed for home..
I was really bumming, wanted to fish and hoped to get the wife in some big fish action.. We went home, re-grouped the gear and headed for Lk. Cav. Now the truck is fixed and all. We made the lake about 11:30, bit of wind from the North and clearing sky's.. We did a big loop around the lake before dropping the gear..
I didn't get the 2nd pole down and fish on, strong fish and before it made the net it spit the hook and swam.. I tyed both rig's up with (2) hook, not sure it's needed ? In no time we had 2 in the cooler, (1) was a 14" R/B but sleek as a summer Steelhead ?
We skimmed the water for about 4 hours to get the 10 fish we came for. Man, we lost lost some real fat fish just short the net. 22-29 foot was the key for us. There was a guy in a 12 footer down around 35 foot and lost many many fish as well that we talked to..
The summer time water play was in full swing but never was a problem.. I'm really digging this kind of fishing. I do need some other kind of release though. Any hoo that's what we did today.
OH, Pink Wedding was the killer today, I"m going to get a few more..
