Was on the water around 1p.m. It was nice and sunny out with a very slight breeze from the west. Saw four other boats out, all fishing the bay in front of the launch with no action seen. I started across from the highway dragging a maribou leech on my dredging line and landed a nice fat 17" 'bow. I then worked the far shoreline for about an hour with no results although my electronics was reading lots of fish and the water temperature at 43 degrees. I then went to a snocone on a sinking line and fifteen foot leader. I caught two more 17" rainbows along the highway side in the large bay. By 4p.m., I could barely feel my feet. I don't know why I didn't wear my 5 mils instead of my lightweights (even though I was in a pontoon boat). Anyway, it was great way to kill an afternoon. For what it's worth, everyone else appeared to be fishing floating lines (probably chironomids) but may not have been deep enough. Everything I caught was right off the bottom.
