Got an invite to a BBQ on Lake Burien. My friends told me that the residents of this lake pay to have it stocked with big fish and to bring my fishing pole. So i watched one guy at the party fish with no results so i tried my luck. Cast out as far as i could trying not to hit all the floating motorized docks out on the lake. Within 5 minutes, it was fish on. Had to listen to a few grumblings from the other guy on the dock. Brought in a very beat up fish about 13 inches. He looked very bruised up, had a big hole on his back and around one gill plate. I put him back and wished him luck. The people here feed the fish and it was a feeding frenzy at the dock next door with big fish jumping all over and about 10 people trying to catch them. I thought that was too easy so i kept casting out to the middle of the lake and brought in another good sized one about 16 inches. Got a ton of bites and shared my poles with my friends and there kids. Saw one of the chummers catch one about 2-3 pounds. Very fun lake, need to make friends with someone who lives there. :)

Until it became a private lake, it had exceptional fishing. Many years ago there was a lodge on the lake. In the years that followed, it was planted regularly with trout. It was a great place to grow up. Glad to hear that some of the younger fisherpersons are enjoying it still.
