Cindy wanted to go out this Morning, so we was on the water around 5:30 or so. Put down a purple glow Flatfish smeared real good with Smelly Jelly Shrimp flavor, and a blue back/white belly flat fish also with the smell jelly treatment. Fished the Mack Bar, and within 20 minutes or so had one on (it came off), and Cindy boated a 7 pounder. Within the next hour or so we had a total of 6 fish on, all of which came off before we got them to the boat. Several hits that popped the clip along with several Yanks in the line. It was quite busy for the time spent on the water. Cindy was using a lighter rig ( 6 foot medium action Ugly Stick, 20# power pro, and I was using heavier gear. It didn't seem to help today with the lighter gear, but it was fun doing battle with them. also, We went up to the yacht club and trolled, but didn't get any hits there. Probably didn't hit the correct areas. Took out, came home had lunch rested, and headed over to Wapato (see report). It was a beautiful morning on the lake and a laker for the grill. Have a safe and fun week-end

Lewis, your fish are moving up the scale, they are getting bigger! For Cindy at least, which is the way it should be. Is the shrimp flavored smelly jelly bath applied to your lures making a difference (as good as pike minnow)? It seams that you had a lot of action on board today. Busy on the boat, even though one fish was the final tally, days full of action is kinda fun. Oh yea, there was a tip given about not setting the hook, did you employ that tactic? Thanks for the report.

Hey MotoBoat, it was a busy and fun time, a couple of double takedowns even. The smally Jelly was rubbed on lure, swivel, 8 feet or so of the braid line. I was using the shrimp flavor after a tip from KIRK BYSHEIM (WL member). It sure didn't hurt any, and I will be using it now. On the hook setting, we took up the slack line and then added pressure, so no "hard sets" were made. On one of the ones that got away on the lighter setup, Cindy fought it for several pulls and the there was a lot of shaking going on, when she retrieved the plug, the line was tangled in the hooks, so maybe the fish was rolling as they sometimes do. Also, I have been informed (quite nicely, I may add) that it is illegal to use "Game Fish" as bait, and since the "Pike Minnow" is now listed as a game fish, it is technically "Illegal" to use them for Bait.
Thanks MotoBoat for your comment, and hope you and yours are enjoying the holiday week-end

Oh my! She did it to you again. You are an incredible captain! Always allowing your partner the big fish. Whom ever they are. And then willing to post it. You are one of a kind Lewis! Keep it up. Thanks for the report. Andy

Well to be truthful Andy, I don't think "Allowing" has much to do with it. It seems my "partner" is a pretty good fisherman, and they just out fish me. LOL Guess I need to try harder. Hope to see ya on the water soon.

Thanks Kirk for the vote of confidence. We plan on fishing for the Macks more in the future, and iff we are in the right place at the right time, it could happen.
