Took a four day camping trip to Ike Kinswa State Park. Couldn't haul the boat too, so fished from shore. Spent a considerable amount of time teaching my four-year-old daughter to cast, but tossed out a worm on a hook and let it sit to see if I could pull in anything. Fished for probably three hours total on Sunday afternoon/evening and didn't even get a bite. Had caught some crawdads along shore while playing with my kids, so used one of those for bait too, but nothing. Over the next few days I tried tossing some grubs, cranks, and spinnerbaits along the shoreline too, but never did get any hits. Also tried more bottom fishing with worms and crawdads, but only lost gear and can't say I ever got a hit that I know of. Saw plenty of boats trolling for trout and getting a few (all looked in the 10-12" range). Fishing was dead, but still had fun playing with my kids and my oldest really loved collecting crawdads. I caught one that was probably 4-5" long, so we took it back to camp and boiled it. There was just enough tail meat so that everyone got a taste. My daughter wanted to go get more for dinner. Good times, but seems like you need a boat to fish this lake.
