Caught some, about 6 or 7, lost some good ones, one maybe 4 lbs and another 2 lbs or so. All on crankbaits. They didn't seem to want dropshot, Carolina rig, or senkos today. They seemed to just want something moving. Water temp got up to 71 in spots by mid afternoon. We got there at 7am and left at 3:30.

Amx, what did you think of the lake itself? Water clarity, rocks and boulders, the amount of mid depth range water? I was curious at
what depth ranges were most of your fish caught? I fish there often and know the lake well, I usually target rocky areas for smallies in
the 6-8 foot zone early, and shift to docks for LMB in the later morning. The lake holds numbers of 6-7 pound LMB and even bigger.
The LMB tend to use the docks for cover and structure, lake lacks weed and wood cover and structure.

we noticed a lack of weed
The water was kinda dingy and not to clear and the fish were caught in the 10 foot range over rocks
Couldnt find any fish under docks with plasitcs
But i love the lake and will be back

Caught a couple dinks under the docks early on my 'favorite' crankbait - 7 to 7:30. then went deeper. Caught all the others from 8 to 12 or so a bit off the shoreline or off deep docks. The rocks look interesting. Dingy water, to dirty water in places. Lack of weeds will make it harder for some folks to zero in on the fish.

And I was in kinda a 'search mode'. See if the fish were active and will bite a moving lure. They were. Then we tried dropshot, carolina rig, senko, tube, and some other thing. I even put some gawdy color on the Carolina rig just for shucks and giggles, but no takers on the slow lures, but they'll work at the right time and place on the lake, just need to explore the lake a couple more times and keep trying the slow stuff.

Amx, thanks for the report. It's neat to hear your making it up to the northend. Hope you come back soon and post more reports from
this part of town.

spindog; The only reason I was able to get there was because Fishingmachine towed my boat, as I can't afford the gas to go most anywhere. But we need to try that lake again. Also will be fishing it different and do more exploring 'the other end', and other areas a bit more. When I win the lotto I'll get to travel lots more, again. :-)
