Stopped by Coulon Park after work, caught some real nice rock bass! It's a shame I left my cell phone in the car and the digital camera at home. I caught the largest warmouth in my life! Right along the boat docks, slow trolling a plastic purple worm along the dock edges. The rock bass are very agressive fish, so when they bite, they bite, I like that.

Caught about 6 total before taking off home. A few were full of eggs...

What size were the rock bass? They are neat aggressive fish to catch, but can be small most of the time. Your biggest warm mouth you caught was a rock bass also, or something else?

Neat! I remember when we were kids fishing for these under a railroad tressle and using nothing but a smoked cigarette filter hooked whacky style on a plain hook with splitshot, couldn't keep them off the hook. Don't know if they liked the smell or maybe the taste of the nicotene, hadn't done that since, you just brought back a good memory. Thanks!

The rock bass was the size of my hand, it had some nice girth to it. I wish I had my camera. Stop down by coulon, and throw some sort or curly tail grub or road runner close to the docks and you will hook some decent ones.

They are fun to catch
