Launched on Goodwin at about 9am? After a short chat with "fishnut" at the launch I was off to the north end. It was sunny with about a 5-8mph wind out of the SSW water temps right around 60*, within the first hour the wind climbed to 10-15mph with whitecaps. Started the day off cranking with both a craw colored Bomber Fat A, and a perch colored Rapala Suspending Shad Rap. Got the 3.5lber on the craw crank in about 8-10 feet of water near a grass clump and that was it for about an hour, so I switched over to a texas-rigged 4" Power Lizard and only got taps. Picked up my Yamamoto 4" curly tail grub on a 1/4oz jig head and started fishing docks, got the 1.8lber after about 5 minutes. Started to notice that the fish were on "dark spots" in and around docks....small to large patches of shallow grass, caught a couple on the shady side of docks, but again only if there was grass present.

The spawn is definately winding down, hooray! Lots of empty beds and the ones that were occupied were mainly dinks! I didn't spend much time exploring deeper water, but I would think that the larger fish would be suspended out there?? If the wind wasn't blowing 10-15mph I may have felt more like 'exploring' that option, but I was also hoping to get into some pre-spawn largies around docks, so I kept to my shallower techniques. All in all I caught 8, the 3.5 was the biggest of the day.

Fishnut, that bag of grubs I gave you was exactly what I threw most of the day, grab yourself some jigheads and have at it!!
