Hit deer on one of the crappiest days ive ever fished and still slayed the bass. The largies are startin to move up and bed down in weeds and top water lures seemed to really trip their trigger. Look for the weeds and throw on a frog, especially in the rain. What a blast.

You are fishing deer lake just north of spokane? Nice fish, did you try anyother top waters? How about the smallies? I have not yet fished that lake in my 7 years here in spkane and this is going to be my fist year. Do you think my 12' aluminum with a small trlling motor will work there? Stay safe out there.

The background in the pics does look like deer lake north of spokane....... hard to believe that the fish would be moving up on beds when the water temp was 48 degrees 2 weeks ago.

Bazzdude - I would give it another 2 weeks if you want to increase your odds of a good bass day on deer. Your 12 foot aluminum should be fine........ just keep your eye on the weather for wind.

Fish On!

honkster with all due respect, you are a fool. Ive been catching bass shallow for a week and i have the pics to prove it. Its hard to believe you know anything about bass fishing with that kind of nonsensical logic. You see, deer lake is spring fed and deep which means its colder on average year round than most lakes in this area. hence the bass spawn earlier, especially with a mild winter. Do some homework and maybe one day you can catch fish like me.
