Lake Chelan continues to produce nice Lake trout in the lower Basin of Lake Chelan.I have been trolling the Ace Hi-fly by Silverhorde to be most productive. The kokanee have showed up but it is real disappointing on the size of them this year..I think that the biggest kok that I have boated was just under 9 inches..I do have hopes that the bigger Kokanee will still show up. It is very strange to me that they are small this year and don't understand how last years fish were averaging over 12 inches and now they are averaging 7 inches. I guess this would be a real good question for our local Biologist.
While trolling for the Lake trout really pay attention to your sonar. If the bottom has scattering of what looks like just debris more than likely these are the Mysis Shrimp and usually if you are seeing these critters then usually there is laketrout or Salmon there even if you dont see the arches on the sonar and fishfinder..
Thanks to all that fished with me over this reporting period. please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or comments and I will try my best to make your next outing a successful trip..
