Hit Moses on Friday and it was on fire. Started out North of Connelly Park trolling in 5-6 ft of water. On one setup had a double whammy in bronze and on the other a slow death rig. Both produce fish and I will say it is quite a chore to work both rods when the fishing is good, but I will certainly take that problem anyday. Boated 15+ walleye, most were small but had a couple over 18" and lost some that felt bigger. Around 1:00 decided to head south for some smallmouth action and no disappointment there landed 10 smallies with a handful over 3lbs. I was throwing an x-rap in crawdad color and they would smash it. As a matter of fact towards the end of the day and after the 8th big smallie made a cast worked the bait in a bit and had a big hit set the hook and nothing brought the lure in and all I had left was the head and lip of the x-rap. Just a warning for all to check these baits to make sure there still solid after several large fish. Never had that happen before but dont like thinking about a fish swimming around with that in its mouth. Anyway all in all great day on the lake.

It is common to check the line for nicks or weakness of some sort after several fish have been caught, but never considered checking the lure for fatigue or damage...........!!! Those must have been the fable'd Piranha bass of Moses Lake. LOL

Ya exactly, I always check the knot and first 3 feet of line up but never really inspected the lure either. Maybe just a freak thing I guess but will start doing it thats for sure. They are to expensive not to.

I bet Rapala would replace it free of charge. I know if you got it from Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee there would probably be very few questions asked, other than they might want to put it on their photo board! The tackle reps for H.O.T. are generally excellent with their customer service, especially on warranty requests.

Strangely enough, I've had 2-3 of my Shad Rap baits break where the bill meets the lure without an extreme event to blame. I don't think they're as durable as they once were.
