Had a couple hours to spend so rebuilt a old real and tied on braided line and a top water frog and went to McIntosh Lake. Still working on rebuild job on outboard so electrics only and the wind was blowning but sunny and slightly overcast-Water temp public launch 65 degrees main lake 65 degrees-Best lure for the day was again a crankbait doing the bump the stump presentation. Met at the launch a fisherman who was asking questions about bass fishing and seemed eager to learn so I asked him if he wanted to go fishing, with a surprised look on his face he accepted. Took him to a spot i knew which had a 3lb bass on an old log guarding its nest. Josh was his name and he did land the fish after several hits and hooked for a few seconds after repeated casts which was fun to watch. Josh did releash the fish. Looks like trout fishermen are doing ok with variable presentations on the banks and in boats. I got a picture of Robby McIntyre with his first fish of the year. Robby caught a Yellow Perch but didn't get his bait description he was off showing his fish to other fisher people. It looks like all fishing is picking up. Also saw a lot of bait fish swimming off while going through the lilly pads. Blue gill hatch from last year it looks like 2 inch ?
