Got to the lake at about 10a.m. Water Temp public Boat launch 59 degrees-Water clarity 4 to 6 foot-sunny skies with slight breeze-Depth most fish found 2 to 3 ft.-Most productive lure Crank bait-presentation sight fishing bedding bass with a crank bait bounching off nest on bottom with a slight pause over the center of the nest and then retrive short jerky movements for about a foot using reel only and then continue steady retrive seemed to trigger strike from bass. Also had hits on a Rage Tail Toad and caught one buzzing though some pencil reeds. All together today had several strikes landed 5 fish with the two larger fish weighing in at 4lbs 1oz and 3 pounds even. The male Bass guards the nest and just to let you know how sometimes if you make repeated casts over and through a nest the bass will strike protecting the eggs. The 3lb Bass came over to a log that i was stuck on with my crankbait and while i was trying to jiggle the plug loose the bass swam up grabbed at the lure set the hook itself while pulling the plug off the log and started ripping through the lilly pads. All I had to do was reel. All fish were releashed unharmed to return back to the nest after pictures and fresh shot of oxygen rich water from the livewell. Water temp at end of day main lake 69 degrees.
