Came home from Cassidy after fishing in the morning because I had a baseball game to umpire at 2PM. I soon received a call that the game had been cancelled at the last minute... so I did some household chores, walked the dog, mowed the lawn and did some other work around the house. Then I packed the boat and went back to Cassidy to fish for bass in the afternoon/early evening. The lake was very busy, and a bit windy, so I anchored up in a few of my favorite spots and fished very slowly and carefully. I fished a Carolina-rigged 6" floating black & yellow rubber worm. I crept it along the bottom, inch-by-inch, and got two bites (except for a few perch? nibbles). The first largemouth was exactly 22 inches long (and way fat!), and looked to be 6+ pounds (maybe 7+)...huge, but I have no scale. A couple of quick phone pics later (sorry the pics suck, but I fish alone), and the giant was gently released. About 10 minutes later I stuck another one...about 4-5 pounds of fat hawg. What a start!...but that was it. A couple more hours of hard slow fishing, but no more bites. What great luck I had to enjoy these awesome fish and catchable moments, and a fun thing to talk about at work Monday. Take care all!

Wow! That is a great fish...I've never fished Cassidy before. Is there any good shore fishing for a guy without a boat? I am trying to learn more about bass fishing as I moved here a year ago from Wyoming and only have time spent fly-fishing for trout. I have been wanting to focus on largemouth, but have only had luck catching a bunch of smallmouth from Lake Washington...nothing above 11'. Great catch, tight lines...

Nice hawgs you got there. Im glad to see someone having luck on the lake. I like this lake and use to fish it alot before my daughter was born. GBASS There isnt much shore fishing available there are 3 spots one is the boat launch another on the same side is the resort which you can rent boats or use the dock for 2$ unless it has changed the last year or so. Then about straight across from the boat launch is a dock for free public use off the bike trail. Hope that helps. Tight lines

Edgeran...I could take better photos, but it's my signature to have my ugly mug in each shot ;) I also forgot my digital camera - which does a better job. That fish did deserve a better photo, but I don't like handling them too long before release. Tight lines, take care!

Hey Pig On,
Do you want to catch a fish you can be proud of and take a real picture of. My buddy James and I want to know if you want to go pig huntin this Saturday. Our boat, our beer, (schmidt ice and a sniffter of gin). Let us know where and when PIG ON.
