Woooo hooo! Awesome day. Just bought a used porta-bote off CL. This was the maiden voyage. Left the 'toon at home and brought what I hoped would be my future fishing buddy, my 9 year-old son. Set up the boat (or bote) and cruised around. I was using a lot of chartreuse (It's amazing that I can use the word charteuse in a sentence and still feel like a real man) and sliver flies at 20-30', my son had a black bugger with flash. We both got skunked, but headed to
Williams lake and cured our skunkosis. At the end of the day, he couldn't stop talking about the next time we were going to go out.....
One more gem in that bucket of memories he keeps in his head.

As an adendum to my post: what is wrong with people. I picked up a kitchen-garbage-bag's worth of soda bottles, power bait jars and tackle wrappers within 20' of the boat launch. I left Baltimore to get away from that culture of not caring (some of the streets there look like Beruit) and it followed me to the lake. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Thank you for your trash P/U, reelman. For some reason a good percentage of anglers at West Medical Lake disrespect its natural beauty and leave a lot of trash. I find myself doing a similar trash P/U every time I fish there.

the trash and polluted water go together. http://www.ecy.wa.gov/biblio/0803104.html

Lots of trash on Long as well. Maybe it goes with the pollution as well. I get tired of p/u after others. I teach my kids to respect our lakes and waterways and feel others should as well. great post.

yeah I picked up tons of powerbait cans with bait in them, and even some nice lures.
