Got started pretty early; launched the boat at the park boat launch around 7am. The lake was generally quiet for an opening weekend, with only 3 other boats on the water. Even when we came in around 11am there were only about 8 boats total.
Started the day just letting the wind drift the boat. My buddy caught a nice 16 inch Rainbow at about 2.5 lbs using a Night Crawler hanging about 6 feet down from a bobber. An hour later I pulled in a 13 inch Rainbow at about 1.5 lbs dragging the bottom with a Night Crawler. Didn't see any significant hatch on the water, although there were some fish surfacing.
Most of the other anglers seemed to be doing about the same (2-3 per boat), with one boat being very successful with some Power Bait near some trees on the northwest side of the lake, near the outlet stream. I think they pulled in about 6 in 30 minutes around 10:30am.
