I like your handle, reminds me of Willey the Walleye back in my home of North Minnesota. Perch are meat eaters and they will take better to a hook with some meat on it... My favorite way to get perch is to drift or anchor up and jig for them with a tip of worm or a perch eye on the hook. As the water warms up the perch will move into the shoreline and a small jig under a float with a little worm drives em crazy. Perch are schoolers so if you catch one there are more to be had. When trolling for perch you have to get your bait into their strike zone... The strike zone for a Perch is exactly the same for a Walleye about a foot off the bottom is just right. Get a light bottom bouncer, (1/2 oz) and put a two hook worm spinner rig on it and troll about 1.5mph or drift with the wind and you should be filling your cooler. Eat fish, live long, have fun! Thanks BMGW. Sounds like good advise. I will have to dust off my bottom bouncers, haven't fished for walleye since the state poisoned Sprague lake to kill off the walleye.
