Put in at the nice ramp at the town of Alder. was fishing by 8:00. Fished either direction from the launch for a couple hours and then headed out into the big part of the lake. Went across the lake to the submerged forest. Fished that shore line and out to water depths of 35-40 feet throwing everything and every color possible, not a bite. Crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits (a little), plastic worms, senko's, crawdads, lizards, tubes, Gulp Minnows which never fail me until today, I mean everything you could name, I threw out there and in most all colors, dropshot, Texas rigged, Carolina rigged, football jig heads.....
Not to beg, but does anyone know this lake very well? Is it just poor until the water gets up? It looks as though it has 12 or 15 feet yet until it hits the line. In my mind, that sunken forest should hold tons of bass. Does it? Does it hold anything? Surface temps ranged from 48 to 53, which is considerably warmer than it was a month ago (45).
Being a bit of a whiner here, but this bass fishin, on this side of the mountains, is starting to wear on me, lol, but I will never give up:) This was my 6th trip of the year (Alder twice, Kapowsin twice, American, and St. Clair), nary a bass:(
A buddy of mine fished the Yakima last week-end and in three days got 25-30 smallmouths, he estimates. I may have to make a trip.
