My wife let me go out this afternoon, didn't have time to call anyone up. I was glad to get out. Hit prespawn areas ranging from 17 to 25 ft. Caught two on a drop shot, one was 2 1/2lb the other hit 4lb 1oz. They certainly look like they're eating well. Fish are starting to move up, but still a ways to go, can't wait until the prespawn really gets swinging.

Nice fatty, good to hear smallies are gettin a little more active. U fish the south end of lake? I have never fished out there so i have no clue where to start.

You can fish anywhere in the lake, but the east channel is where I like to go.

I let it go. You should try avoid eating the larger ones, due to pollution and the sport. If your going to eat any smallies, I advise eating the smaller ones, less than 12"!

Thats a good point kzoo. larger generally dont taste as well, plus they're the good breeders.

But yeah, bass is tasty. Pan fry!

My temp gage took a crap, but I asked a fellow fisherman, it was 49 degrees. There definetely starting the prespawn, just not full force yet.
