Hello fellow anglers,
AJ’s Dad was kind enough to take me on yet another successful guided fishing trip. The weather was cold, windy, and the threat of rain was ever looming over our heads. On a day like this, nobody really expects to catch fish. Unless of course you are fishing with AJ’s Dad that is. He is the finest fisherman I know. He is also the kindest fisherman and guide that I have ever had to opportunity to spend time with. You see, he knew there was only going to be one fish caught on this kind of day, so he skillfully positioned the boat so I would have no other place to make my cast, than directly at this beautiful 2lb 10oz Newman Lake springtime largemouth. What a guy and what a fish. This beauty was caught on a Rapala X Rap slash bait of precisely the size and color he recommended. I knew that if I used the lure he recommended and cast it to the exact spots he recommended, I would achieve the success I dreamed of and boat a nice fish. I count my blessings each and every time he calls and says, “Hey Bill, how would you like to go fishing tomorrow”? It brings a tear to my eye just thinking of these cherished opportunities. Do you ever find yourself in a rut? Do you ever have those trips where the fish just won’t bite no matter what you throw at them? Well let me tell you, that doesn’t happen in his boat! Bass, Pike, Crappie, Trout, Walleye, you name it, he will put fish in the boat! If you are ever given the opportunity to fish with this “One of a kind” human being, by golly I suggest you take it. It will be an experience to remember for as long as you live. Heck, he may even write the story for you to post on Washington Lakes. In closing I must ad that AJ’s Dad, although he excels to the highest levels in the local fishing community, is a fantastic photographer. Can you believe the quality of this photo he took? Enough said folks, AJ’s Dad is “The Man”.

Ok..Ok..Now that we are all done gagging over this self indulgent report that AJ's Dad wrote. (not that you couldn't tell) The real report is this....cold and windy, water temp 42.6 degrees, threw 250 casts going after my first Tiger Muskie. I got this bass in the first 10 minutes of fishing and nothing else for the day. I caught him on a 6" orange and brown X-rap in 8' of water on the east end of the lake. All I can say about AJ's Dad(my brother) is .....You didn't think I would actually post that email report you sent me ...did you? LOL !!

I will admit that my brother is one good fisherman, but if his head gets any bigger....To quote Martin Brody exclaming to his crewmate Quint in JAWS: "You're gonna need a bigger boat."

Great story, thanks. Nuttin' like a little humor to liven up a slow day's fishin' report.
