Beautiful day to be on a lake fishing. There were at least 5 other boats on the lake when I launched the boat. I started fishing about 3pm and trolled various lures around the lake with no hits at all. So I tried bottom fishing near the south end of the lake using powerbait. Again no luck. I heard a big splash behind me, so I thought I I'd try trolling one more time before calling it a day. I threw on a black woolley bugger and went around the south end of the lake in a circle and wham! A fish hit my woolley bugger and took line. I landed the fish and was surprised to see a nice, fat rainbow on the lure. It was about 5pm when I caught the trout. When I got home, the fish measured out at about 15" and was 3" thick in the middle. What started out as a slow afternoon of fishing became a wonderful way to end a nice, sunny day! I did not see anybody else catching fish, and by the time I caught my trout, everyone else had left the lake.

Nice job, when fishing is slow on Flowing, try putting on a 3" perch pattern rapala covered in special mix smelly jelly way behind the boat at a fairly fast speed, those fish can't resist it, good luck , see you out there.

Thanks for the advise! Always appreciated. Is there any area on the lake that's better than another? I seem to have the best success at the south end, in front of the boat launch - or west of it.

I had a nice photo of me & my fish, but didn't get it added when I did my report. Is there a way to add a photo after you've submitted a report?
