Fished 8th-morning of the 10th. Stayed at Cabin by the River (it was great!). Fished the lower pens with black jigs with moderate success. The hottest jig was the black Mirabeau with green head jigging down about 25'. Got another down deep with a drop-shot setup. Photo on left is Kenny with his 13lb'r caught on the Mirabeau. Water temp about 39 with varying current. Good trip!

You can buy Marabou jigs at most any tackle shop,, with the exception of someplace like Fred Meyer or a large chain maybe.

Jacob Marabou jigs can be relatively easy to to ty 1/16 or 1/8 oz jigs and some marabou feathers in black. brown and green and you are in business.Zaskar those are some nice fish. How long of a run is it to the first pens from the cabin?

WOW, Way to go Kenny, now that's fishing. Nice looking fish and a little thing like jighead color can make a big difference. Glad to hear (and see) that you guys had a great trip. hope to see ya again on the water. Safe travels

I am trying to figure out which is bigger the smile on your face or the fish. If I had a fish that size I wouldn't stop smiling for a month. Good report and great fish. Thank you for the report.

its just a feather and a hook, after you tie a couple and catch fish, you will never buy another one

Ganno the run is maybe 5 or six miles at most, we would run up to the upstream side of the pens and let the current float us along the front jigging as we went, the current does take the 1/8th jighead and move it around quite a bit, that is why i tried the heavier weight with dropshot setup to get a more straight up-and-down presentation.

Nice fish! Did that 13 pounder give you a good fight? How long did it take you to land it?
