Fished Rufus for the first time, left spokane at 6am or so and after missing a turn a few times ended up on the water at about 9ish. Tried trolling and castings, csr 7 raps, panther martins, rostertails, and everything else in the tackle box. Even tried powerbait and worms to no avail. About the only thing we didnt try that i wanted to were bluefins b2 squid jigs and thats because the white elaphant was out of them. Saw someone catch about a 9 pounder think it was anton the guide in the red boat. Overall it was a good experence and my first time fishing out of a boat in Jan. Put in at the fist launch down river of the dam and fished infront of both pens. Saw a bunch of mule deer and enjoyed being on the water fishing (not catching lol)

Hey Xwisconyfisherman, I ended up ordering mine B-2s from online to be sure I had some. The fish haven't been as hot on them this year, but some days they are the ticket. Thanks for the report, and best of luck on the water.

Did you happen to try wedding rings? I know dumb question but sometimes they like them. Next time you come over maybe try it. Don't give up on Rufus yet there are still fish to be had.

Just curious how long you think it would have taken to drive there if you hadn't missed a turn? We're tentatively planning a trip up next weekend, weather permitting. We'll be launching at Seaton's Grove. Here's hoping your next trip yields better results! :-)

Hey fisherman! Was that a red Custom Weld with a black top? If so, it was probably my son, wife, and I. We caught a 13 pounder out in front of the first set of pens that morning . We fished yesterday and caught 1 10 pounder in the same area. Today, we were dry until we figured out that they were feeding on top and switched to smaller shallower diving plugs and ended up with 3. A 10, 8, aqnd 6 pounder. We have one more morning out there tomorrow before heading back top to the Tri-cities.

Just a small correction on the report..You saw me, Joe Heinlen, Lake Chelan Adventures in the red boat:)..and the fish was 9lbs. 11 oz. that was a great guess:)

Blufin: Are the B-2 jigs that you use floaters? I buy salt water jigs or Git-Zits from Best Buy Surplus on Sprague and I run a small cork up in the head of my jigs to keep them off the bottom. It has really worked well for me.

blufin, Thanks for the tip on ordering them online I just started to do that with my ice fishing gear.
Malottguy, I did try wedding rings, they are my go to rig for trout!!! with my limited experience fishing for trout i think ive had the most luck with them.

hewesfisher, I would say it would take you just over 2 hours depending on the roads
Chelanlaketrout, sorry for my mixup, i recognized the boat from a previous post i read. I guess it was yours!! Keep it up I enjoy reading them. And way to put your clients on the fish time and again! It was nice to see how a pro gets it done!
