Fished Silver lake three days while in Spokane, all three days were very successful considering I was actually looking for Crappie, but switched to Perch after catching some jumbo's. On the 24th I was fishing in the shallows while most everyone was out deep 30' plus, I was in about half that depth for the most part and using my Vexilar I looked for muck bottom that would be dark and retain the heat and guess what I found??? The Jumbo Perch where hanging out right on the bottom warming their bellies. They could not resist my offering (Dons Dandy Jigs) in pearl white. I caught few enough small perch like what they were catching out at 30' but ended up feeding the Blue Heron that was hanging out the small ones and or throwing them back. By the end of the day I had a good mess of Jumbos and one was pushing 2#, they were all females fat with eggs. Great fishing!
