I heard the rainbow plant was in, and the bite was on...plus I had the day off...so I went out and did some trout fishing at Blackman's Lake this afternoon. I had 5 bites in the couple hours I was there, and caught a couple of 12 to 13 inch bows...one while slow trolling a wedding ring with rainbow powerbait. I also got one just drifting the powerbait with a tiny split shot. There were 4 or 5 boats, and shore fishermen on each dock...a pretty busy day out there. It seemed like most people got a little something for their efforts. The people I talked to that had the most luck were fly fishermen...but a couple kids said they caught some on pop gear and worms. What a great day to get out and enjoy the weather, and use my new fishing pole too.

I also got to meet "datsun" a Washington Lakes.com member. What a real nice fellow, and an excellent fisherman too. Hope to see you again soon, and good luck fishing wherever you go!

jrister.....when I was out that day, the fly fishermen told me they released a 3 pounder and 5 pounder (triploids?) among the fish they caught during the day. I basically fish only for bass...don't know much about trout. take care
