I have been up at Rufus Woods for the last 3 days and Oh Boy has it been a battle with the gail winds. Did manage to get some fish to go on Kastmaster spoon in the Blue and Silver Flavor plus the Super Rooster in Black was a good go to bait to change things up..

The fish that managed to bite were in the Lower Basin of the Lake., between pumps 1 and 4.

Water temp also is a big part of not boating a bunch right now..Still and I say STILL above 58 degrees..Gosh this is hard to believe that the temp is still this warm. I looked at records from last year and the temp was right at 50 degrees today 2008..Tight Lines to all and get ready, I think that we are supposed to cool down a little over this next week..Be safe out there..

Hey Joe, It was great seeing you up there this past weekend! The wind definitely was tough for fishing on Friday and Saturday! What an awesome place RW is though... even when it isn't slammer fishing. I wound up catching 10 fish on Friday and only 2 on Saturday. I was off the water by 2:30 on Friday and 11:00 on Saturday. On Friday, I caught the bulk of my fish up by the walls just above Brandts landing area. I had a large fish on that showed his face and then spit the hook on me!! That was awesome, but the rest of the fish were of the smaller variety caught on Brass spoons. I trolled your wooley bugger setup on Friday and that yielded me 4 four fish on the down rigger at 7 feet in 35feet of water below Pump 1 area.
I look forward to fishing with you soon!
